Why did I create this website?
Hi, I’m the creator of Chronically Crafty.

I created this website as both a personal mission and a creative outlet. Living with chronic illness myself, I wanted to build something meaningful that combines creativity, awareness, and a way to continue creating even on difficult days.
I’ve been sick for most of my life, but things became significantly more difficult after having mononucleosis and later becoming a parent. While working full time, I began experiencing episodes where I would unexpectedly pass out without explanation. I spent years going through appointments, testing, and searching for answers. Eventually, I had to make the difficult decision to leave a stable career because my symptoms became too unpredictable to manage alongside work.
Since then, I’ve received multiple diagnoses and even applied for disability, only to face setbacks and discouraging responses along the way. Those experiences changed my life, but they also pushed me to find a new path forward.
Around Christmas one year, I picked up knitting needles again for the first time since I was young, remembering the simple scarves and blankets my grandma taught me to make. That small creative outlet slowly grew into something much bigger. Eventually I expanded into crochet, began creating my own designs, and discovered that making things by hand gave me something I hadn’t felt in a long time: purpose.
Chronically Crafty was created from that experience.
Today, this website is where I share the crochet patterns I’ve designed and the creative projects I continue to make while navigating chronic illness. My goal is to create patterns that feel approachable, enjoyable, and achievable whether you’re crafting during good days, bad days, or somewhere in between.
I’ll also be starting a blog where I share my experiences living with chronic illness, the realities of navigating everyday life while sick, and the things I’ve learned along the way. My hope is that by sharing both the creative side and the difficult side, others feel a little less alone.

Thank you for being here and supporting Chronically Crafty. Whether you came for crochet patterns, creative inspiration, or to follow along with my journey, I’m so glad you found your way here.
Because even when life changes unexpectedly, creativity can still create something beautiful.
